Open Question: Should I quit basketball?
I have a lot of reasons...but the main one is that I don't even like basketball. Just because you are good at something doesn't mean your heart is in it at every. In fact, I have this anxiety and anger mixture associated with basketball. Two alternative reasons is that my mom doesn't want me to---she wants me to receive a job....and I have this 9 x 10cm ovarian cyst that is prone to rupture---my doc doesn't want me to, or at least she wants me to be careful. I might be better off being the sports trainer for the team---I can receive credit for my sports medicine class for traveling with the team How do I go about quitting?

Open Question: What does Wells Fargo look for when determining if they'll modify my mortgage ARM loan?
I have an ARM mortgage through Wells Fargo and my rate will be adjusting up 1.25 points at the beginning of next year. When I bought my home I received 100% financing but with declining market values I do not have enough equity to qualify for a refinance at this time. I called Wells Fargo and they said I might qualify for a mortgage modification. They said to call back with every of my income and monthly expense information (including everything from food to insurance to childcare, etc). My question is, do they want to look that I can or cannot afford this mortgage? Should I report every last expense to make it look like we are barely getting by or should I report the bare minimums so that it shows we are credit-worthy and will not default? I have excellent credit and have never been tardy, I just really cannot afford a higher mortgage payment. What are they looking for to approve a modification? Any experience or suggestions??

Open Question: What's your opinion. Should I get shafted or receive mercy?
Like many, I'm guilty of not reading the "Terms of Service Agreement" (or something like that) when I registered for a particular web based service. I signed up for a web based service (1 year contract for discounted service). Over time I concluded that I wasn't going to be using the service much and that I shouldn't have signed up for a years worth (I barely used the service after signing up for it) My plan was to just ride the contract out and not renew...my loss/my mistake in signing up in the first place. About a year later, I started receiving communications from the service saying my credit card was expired and to please update it and pay the amount due for ANOTHER years worth of service that apparently "car-renewed"...and that I was already tardy in my payment for this service due to the expired credit card). So I'm already into a new and unwanted contract term. (The service pointed out that in their terms of service agreement I was supposed to tell them that I planned to cancel 3 months before the car-renewal was to take place). Okay...I'm guilty. I didn't read the terms of service. That said. I didn't receive my money's worth out of the first years contract. I didn't use their service/system so I didn't really cost them much if anything. The amount of times I used the service certainly would cover the costs of maintaining me on their books. Now the service has passed me along to a collection agency for the second years worth of service(~$350 plus an additional ~$100 interest. I communicated with the company shortly after hearing from them about a year ago to cancel my account for the second year and I've just started hearing from their collection agency about a week ago. Okay, legally, they probably are right. Morally? (If I pay up I'll have paid a total of about $800 for a web based screen sharing service that I used MAYBE a months worth of times.) Now I use a free service that provides much the same utility! Personally, I think they should have a heart and just let me go with no penalty (Since they really got their money's worth out of me during the first contract) Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Open Question: ANTHONY'S K-9 ROTTWEILERS, STUPID WOMAN THAT HAD TO HAVE 2 PUPPIES IS A BIG LIAR!?
I Anthony Ziccardi owner of Anthony’s K-9 met Debbie Caruso who resides at 85 Weeks ave, Manorville New York. On 10/12/08 she bought a female puppy from me. She said that she had been a vet tech and wanted to take the puppy at 3 weeks old. I told her I would not allow that and it was a bad idea. She had a problem waiting for the dog to mature. On 10/17/08 Debbie came over to look the puppies again she said she wanted to take the puppy. At that time I had a 1 year old male that I felt would be a good dog for Debbie to possess because she did not want to wait to take the puppy. I let her take the male home to look if she would like him. I then received a phone call one hour later saying her daughter was afraid. So she returned the dog and said she would wait for the puppy. Debbie came to look the puppies at least 3 times a week with her 2 kids and stayed for at least one hour. When the puppy was 5 and a half weeks old she took the puppy. The next day I received a phone call from Debbie saying it was difficult to handle her tiny kids work and a puppy. So I offered her the option of returning the pup until it was a little older. She thought that was a good idea. She brought the pup to me and I kept it for another week. When she came to receive the puppy at 6 and a half weeks old we vaccinated the whole litter together. She then left with her puppy. One week later she wanted to purchased another female puppy. She was told by me that it was a bad idea. She also said her husband said the same thing. She did not want to hear. She then asked if she could receive a discounted price on the second puppy purchase. I discounted the puppy $300 and she was glad with that. I then asked her what her husband would say about the second purchase? She said he would not know how much she had spent because she has her possess checking account. Three days after the second purchase I received a phone call from Debbie that she had made a mistake buying the second puppy and her husband was upset. I told her I would help her sell one of the puppies. The next conversation Debbie said the dog was sick with Giardia (worms) Anemic (lethargic). I told Debbie I would replace the pup if it was sick. She then said that would not solve her problem because she would still have two dogs. I suggested she take out a classified add in Newsday and post a add on the internet and she did. I asked her to bring the dog over. I placed it with the other puppies and said she could pick another. She decided not to take another because it was apparent there was nothing wrong with the one she had. The next conversation with Debbie was one that she said I would not believe. The puppy had injured its leg falling off of her deck and that the first puppy had broken her leg at her job. On 10/31/08 I asked Debbie to bring the second puppy to me. My wife wrote her a credit towards another puppy from my next litter. She said she wanted a male because she already had a female. She then stated she had started court proceedings but would not follow through because she had received a written agreement. It has been a nightmare dealing with her. She has also since the return of her second puppy posted untrue accusations about me and my dogs on the internet. I have only tried to do the right thing for her.

Open Question: Does anyone know how money works in economics?
This question was asked in my economics class and I don't understand what it means or what the answer could be. Any suggestions? There was an upright and very proper Englishman who regularly took his summer vacation on a tiny, agreeable island. The Englishman had returned to the island so many times that his credit worthiness had been established beyond any possible doubt. There was ABSOLUTELY no chance that this Englishman’s bank would fail to honor his checks and, indeed, every of them had always been honored promptly. Since the Englishman’s credit was so sound, the islanders were totally glad to allow him to pay by check, with the certain knowledge that they were good checks. Indeed, so well known and trusted was the Englishman on this tiny island that islanders were glad to accept the Englishman’s checks from each other. For example, if the restaurateur wished to pay the grocer partly with the check he received in payment for a meal, the grocer was glad to accept the check. The grocer was then able to gas with the check, and the Englishman’s check circulated in this way around the island. Indeed, the checks were never returned to the Englishman’s London bank for collection. Who paid for the Englishman’s vacation and what happened on the island as a result of the Englishman’s vacation?

Open Question: Credit Agency Employee recommended a dispute, but...?
I've been looking into re-building my credit, and spoke with an employee at a Credit Agency. I bought a month of the credit monitoring so i could spend some time with it, and when I went to cancel my account, the lady reminded me that I could dispute negative items at no charge to me. She went on to explain that if the companies don't respond or aren't able to provide paperwork regarding my negative item, then it gets remove. The thing is, they're NOT incorrect, I really did owe them money, and took too long to pay it off. Would it be wrong for me to try and dispute these anyways, just to look if I receive lucky? I should note that the items I'm looking at getting off are items that ARE paid off - I don't owe any money, they're showing up as paid and closed.

Open Question: Auto finance questions:?
My scenario is that I recently started a new job (2 months ago) after being a stay-at-home mom for several years. I make 45,000/yr and would like to finance a used car that costs around $19000-$20000. My credit scores are 581, 596, and 621 as of 11/18/08. I really need a new car because my minivan is kaput. I don't want a clunker(been there done that). I want something nice that I can keep approx. 7-10 years. What are my chances of getting financing and what do you believe the rate and terms would be? I would like to finance 60 months on a 2006 model year. Also, how does mileage arrive into play? The car I am looking at has around 50,000 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and only serious answers please-no judgments. Thank you.

Open Question: Why is is that people with EVERYTHING expect people with little to nothing to give them what they cant afford?
So this is my problem: My husband and I had to borrow money from his sister to pay our mortgage when he lost his job. He was out of work for a long while, and I was the only one working, we have A LOT of bills! We got really, really, really far behind on every of our bills, and most of our credit cards are now in collections! Recently she told him that she NEEDED the money back NOW! We have paid her a little bit of the money back, but not every of it, knowing that she doesn't NEED the money, because we cant afford to. Knowing good and well that we cant afford to pay her back she still insists that we pay her every of it back. I think that it is really wrong of her to do this to us especially at this time in our lives, and this time of the year. It is the holidays and she knows that we are really broke. I am even working a part time job right now, to try and pay off some bills. It is really difficult to pay off bills when we have to pay her back every of this money, I'm sleepy of messing my credit up even more to pay her back instead of our credit card bills! I don't understand why she is doing this to us? She has a good job and makes well over 70k a year, her husband owns his possess company, and they are looking at a home that cost about 700k, so I would say they are doing pretty good! I don't receive why she would be doing this to us. Her and my husband have always been close, so I don't think she would be doing this to hurt him. I have never really been a big fan of his family, and not sure they have been a fan of me either, but that's a totally different story. Our intentions were never to not pay her back, we just need to receive back on our feet before we were going to pay her back...she never gave my husband a time frame to pay her back or anything, and now out of the blue when we are hurting the worst for money and at the holidays she wants it every! I just need some advice on what other people think. Why do ya'll think she is doing this?

Open Question: How can I find out if I defaulted on a private student loan?
I had been 3 payments behind on my chase student loans. I tried applying for a forbearance with them but they said I had to have been paying for the loan for a least a year in order for the forbearance to be granted. So, the only thing i could do was not make the payments because I didn't have any money and they were not willing to give me a forbearance or some type of extension for 4 months. I know I should have made my payments on time, but I couldn't because I was unemployed for like 8-9 months. I had to cease searching for a job b/c my dad fell sick so I had to stay home and take care of him for a couple of months. I just recently got a job and was able to pay those tardy payments and now I am up to date on my loans. I asked this question before and every the answers I kept getting were from people advertising a lender in order for me to receive a loan. I am not looking for a loan, I am already up to date on mines. I just want to look if at one moment during the time I didn't pay I had been in default. I feel bad because my mom is my co-signer and I think it affected her credit, which she had a pretty good credit. Also, she doesn't know I fell behind 3 payments and that makes me feel worse.

Open Question: If I leased an apartment and they switch me to another unit without a new lease. Am I in a lease?
I leased an unfinished apartment in June of 08. It was scheduled to be completed on July 15th of 08. I week before I was supposed to move in the landlord called me and stated that the apartment would not be completed on time. I was staying in a motel which was getting expensive so I let them move me into another unit. I never signed a new lease on the new unit. Here is the kicker. My dad signed with me on the original lease due to some credit issues. They have requested us to sign a new lease agreement and due to the fact that the unit that they moved me into is bigger and more expensive, my dad will not sign the new lease. My question is, does the first lease we signed hold any legal value. Could I give notice and vacate without being responsible for the terms of the original lease? My dad was never notified of the unit change and says that he did not agree to a higher payment therefor he is not responsible. I just don't want to do anything that will adversley affect him.

Open Question: Does this sound like a good plan?
Right now im a finance major at a third tier public university. I hear my degree wont be well regarded because its not from an ivy. However, im doing an exchange program on the east coast and will graduate in fall 2009. To change my degree to accounting now would set me back to Spring 2010, which isnt a big deal, but I would still have to go to graduate school to have enough credits to take the CPA. Im thinking of just getting my finance degree and then getting a MBA with a concentration in accounting. Does that sound like a good plan? I want to be able to receive a goob job. Do you think it will be difficult to receive work with just the BA in finance?

Open Question: Missing wallet...what's the worst case scenario and what can I do to be 100% sure my identity won't be stolen?
I may have lost my wallet at the gas station. I had literally just gotten into a screaming match with my brother before I gassed up, so I was in a bad mood and really distracted (there were some other very traumatizing things that happened there, too, but that's beside the point). I'm not entirely sure, but I may have driven away with my wallet on top of the car. I retraced my steps, went back to the gas station twice to look if anyone turned anything in, practically turned my home upside down trying to find it, but still nothing. To make matters worse, the ONE time I lose my wallet, which never happens in the first place, I had my social security card inside because I had just donated plasma that day. Go figure. The wallet also contained two forms of picture id (school and license), and a bunch of ATM and bank receipts. No debit or credit cards, thank God. My question is, what's the worst that could happen and what actions should I take? Should I wait a day or two for it to turn up or should I start replacing everything now? Also, can anything really be done with credit union ATM receipts?

Open Question: Is USA demoralized by Obama types with manufactured "academic degrees and honors" ?
- A complete set of Obama's inferior college grades and his inferior SAT/LSAT standardized test scores would prove that Obama is an academic fraud. - Obama has been using every suppression and legal maneuvers to block public access to his college records. - Obama has been rejecting thousands of public requests for his college records. At the same time, Obama has been using the mainstream media and his internet thugs to spread his propaganda of "academic degrees and honors" manufactured for him by Harvard liberals. The same thugs attack every public requests for Obama's college records, including this one. - every legitimate Harvard Law graduates, esp. with honors, have substantial legal accomplishments later in their careers like academic publications, rewards based on peer reviews, legal careers in terms of law cases handled, etc. Obama has produced nothing in his entire life except getting elected by the naive and claiming credit for others work. If somebody gets "honors" from Harvard and has nothing to show for them after 17 years then maybe you should look for real honors in the color of his skin. - Every legal secretary with a Community College degree accomplishes more in one year than Obama has in his entire 17-year lawyer career. - Look at the current election! Obama has collected endorsements from people who would never give him a grade over D- before his popularity and now give him A+. This is exactly what happened at Harvard. Harvard admitted Obama as an affirmative action Black. Harvard Law Review admitted Obama through a special program for Blacks without academic merit. Then Obama got himself elected as the "president" of HLR and miraculously he got his "Magna" later. - You must be a fool to believe in the offical Harvard standards for honors. Harvard also has admission standards and you must be a fool to believe in them too. - A cheap VCR can play "Constitutional Law" at University of Chicago without publishing any intellectual work like Obama, unlike every legitimate lecturers at UC who publish tons of work. UC had to keep Obama for fears of lawsuits even though Obama failed to publish. - Literary experts have examined Obama's "autobiographies" and declared with high confidence that they were written by ghostwriter(s). Many investigators have proved that his "autobiographies" are full of lies. - USA will have to abandon every affirmative action programs of the past in order to compete with the Asian economies fueled by educational systems based on competitive standardized tests and grueling exams. Harvard liberals will not be able to manufacture fake "academic degrees and honors" for Obama types because the competitive environment will not allow them.

Open Question: I need to get a loan?
My car needs a lot of work mechanically and cosmetically but its not worth putting every that money into it (plus I just don't have the money to start with). I am really needing to receive a loan for about $3000 so that I can go receive another car. I'd use it either to buy a car outright through the paper or as a down payment on another car I haven't decided yet. I was thinking if I got the loan in Dec I'd be able to make the 1st payment in Jan cause I'm going to have an extra $700 due to a 3rd pay check and then in Feb I could pay it off once I got my income tax return. I am planning on trying at my bank first to look if they can work with me. My credit is far from the best but right now it seems like everyone's credit is suffering some. How much money would I have to make a month in order to receive this loan? Would the bank be more willing to work with me if I am going to pay it off so soon? What does your credit score have to be in order to receive a loan from a bank? Thanks!

Open Question: Why is my available balance higher than my actual credit line?
I have a capital one credit card with a $500 credit line. I was maxed out and I made a payment online with check for $500. I called them up and they released the funds instantly so I had my credit line available again. When I logged in just now it says my available credit is $701 (i've spent about $300 already). Whats up with this?

Open Question: Please help: Do I still have a chance of getting into Law school?
Okay, here's the deal. Right now I'm a senior in molecular biology at university of washington, and I absolutely hate my major!! The only reason I got into it was because couple years ago I was transferring from community college and this major was an "open" major and my chances of successfully transferring was a lot higher than most majors. Next thing I know, I'm done with my junior year, I hate my major, and my grades are going down badly. So, now I've decided to start over. I want to receive my bachelor's degree in psychology and then apply to Law school. But here's the thing: I'm going to graduate in six years!! Is that a huge deal for law school? Also, lets say I do this and receive some pretty good grades during the next couple of years. Do I have a chance of getting into a good law school? or does this whole thing just sound like a bad idea? What should I do at this point? The thing is that, I just learned what it is like to be a civil lawyer (a close family pal is a civil lawyer), and I really like it. On the other hand, I really don't wan't continue biology. It's just so uninteresting to me. I think taking some of the psychology requirements will prepare me for law school a lot better than biology. For instance for psychology I have to take a lot of writing credits, logic, and etc., which I think can be very useful when it comes to law school. What do you think? Do you think I should go forward with this plan?
